What We Do...
Mobile Minds of New Jersey non-profit organization was created to serve all children, with an emphasis on children from at risk populations, in grades K-12 to academically and socially prepare for their futures. Mobile Minds works in partnership with many community stakeholders, who are devoted to improving the lives of residents in Mercer county, New Jersey.
Together, we serve a mission of helping children with raising low self-esteem, finding their passion, closing the academic achievement gap, living happier lives and to become good citizens, by providing academic enrichment, maker programs, individualized learning goals, tutoring, mentoring, social, recreational and cultural programs.

Our Core Values...
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Each of our programs becomes its own little community and with various exercises and discussions. We work with children on a democratic level to infuse good character throughout our community.

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education.”
— MLK Jr.
MAKING
Children must have tangible results for multi-sensory and multiple learning styles. Moving out of their way and allowing freedom to think and create helps facilitate learning. We provide an opportunity to Make in every program. We see the light come on and the learning begins when children can physically connect with their projects. Once the children have creative control, the possibilities are endless.

PLAY
Play also teaches essential life skills in: Collaboration, Communication, Critical thinking, Creative innovation and Confidence. We balance our programs to include a healthy amount of critical play time.

"Play helps children develop the intellectual, emotional, social and creative skills that are of lifelong benefit to them and their communities."
— Lego
“We need to think of play as a kind of metaphor for anything we throw ourselves into wholeheartedly.”
— Roberta Golinkoff, Ph.D. and Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, Ph.D.
NUTRITION AND NURTURING
A well balanced breakfast and lunch are provided every day during our summer camp and snacks during our maker labs. Research shows children are better equipped to focus with full stomachs.

"Child hunger and child obesity are really just two sides of the same coin. Both rob our children of the energy, the strength and the stamina they need to succeed in school and in life. And that, in turn, robs our country of so much of their promise."
— Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act
TEAM WORK & PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
We explore team scenarios similar to corporate teams, such as functional, cross functional and self-directed Teams. The benefits of teamwork during project time are many, including synergy and increased skills, knowledge, productivity, flexibility, and commitment to a project. Our Project based learning model immerses our students in realistic and challenging tasks to explore and acquire deeper knowledge of their subjects.
LOW TECHNOLOGY STEM
Our stem activities are raw and we start with the basics to build a foundation of learning. Sometimes we work in reverse to explore the inner workings of technology. We will soon welcome advanced technology into our programs.
